Former police officer Alex Bulloch, of King's Norton, established the Birmingham War Exploration Society with colleagues with 1972, and was awarded a MBE for his services.
Since then, Mr Bulloch who sadly past away at the age of 82 from a long battle with lung problems, made hundreds of trips to help France, Belgium and Germany, escorting people to the last resting destinations of relatives that had gone down in both world wars.

"He would always maintain a raffle on the trip and lift money for causes which include War Graves Memorial, Luton Children's Hospital and Leukaemia Research."

Mr Bulloch's wife Jessie died in 2012. He / she leaves two sons, Keith as well as Ian.
