| – released after being searchedIt may have been a case of mistaken identity but the parents of a 10-year-old pupil who attends a West Coast Demerara Primary School were shocked out of their wits yesterday when they learnt that their son was abducted from his school, though for a short while.Relating his version of the ordeal to this newspaper last evening, the sixth grader said that he was heading to a nearby shop to purchase a drink before school commenced when a strange man approached. He said that the man asked him where he lived to which the boy replied, “I can’t tell you that.” Dissatisfied with the child’s response, the man proceeded to grab him simultaneously covering his mouth, effectively preventing him from screaming for help as he forced him into a nearby parked car. The incident occurred shortly after 08:00 hours.The boy who claimed to have noticed the car earlier, confidently told this newspaper that it was a white Nissan Laurel.Firmly confined to the front passenger seat, the lad related that the man drove to an area that looked like an abandoned marketplace where he stopped the car and continued to question him about where he lived. “I keep telling he no. He asked me my name and I didn’t tell him. On hearing of her son’s plight, the panic-stricken woman opted to call her husband who immediately informed the police.“The police respond fast because is within 10 minutes of calling them they reach to me son and pick he up,” said the boy’s grateful father.
