Now with the apprehension of the man people believe that the spate of robberies may have come to an end.Yesterday about 14:00hrs a Transfiguration Church member, spotted a strange man carrying a television set from 515 Kiskadee Drive, North East la Penitence and raised an alarm.One woman delivering her dose of blows to the man is being restrained by police.That house and two others were reportedly broken into one day earlier, and a large quantity of items stolen.As the church person shouted “thief” the man reportedly dropped the television set and made a dash for it in the direction of the Le Repentir Cemetery across the caiman infested Sussex Street Canal injuring him self in the process.That canal is believed to have untold dangers as the seepage from the Mandela landfill site ultimate ends up in there.Residents armed themselves with cutlasses, pieces of wood and other weaponry and began a manhunt. The suddenly their attention was drawn to persons darting west of Kisskadee drive shouting “they ketch he; they ketch he; they ketch he.”In the distance a man with a cutlass in one hand was thuggishly coaxing another past three houses that were broken into. Some hurled cuffs, kicks, slaps and punches on the hapless thief.Lucky for the unnamed thief the police were nearby and ran to his rescue by arresting him. But even that did not stop the blows from raining after Dellon Cadogan,Alex English Jersey, 20, noticed that the man was wearing one of his pair of pants.“I don’t know you boy. Then one woman armed her self with a piece wood and dealt the man a lash and the wood was no more.She then delivered two cuffs to the man’s chest with all her might despite the fact that she was not among the victims. Her explanation was that the man was an embarrassment to young men.“I please me heart but I de want give he some more cause he stupid,” she later said.As the man took brisker steps to the police vehicle he was hit from every direction even by children.The man could not climb fast enough into the police vehicle where he adopted the foetal without any orders from the police. But even then some women delivered their last assaults.“We should beat you more cause you gon only get about two years fuh all them things we loss,” one woman said.According to her the man was spotted at her daughter’s house with her television set. She said too that her 15-year-old granddaughter had gone home the day prior for lunch and had found the back door open.“The thieves carry away a set of things yesterday and this one had the guts to come back again today for the rest of things.
