In commemoration of the 174th Anniversary of the Arrival of East Indians to Guyana,Sonu Nigamthe Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha is organizing a concert featuring world renowned singer Sonu Nigam and a troupe of 15 other singers and musicians.The Sabha announced yesterday that the concert is billed for the National Stadium, Providence on April 28 and confirmed that it had signed an agreement confirming Sonu and troupe.Sonu Nigam is one of the most popular singers of India. Ticket details and locations will be released shortly.All proceeds of this event will be dedicated towards the construction of a Shelter which will house children who are victims of abuse, the Sabha stated.The building will be based in Berbice, where the Sabha has already secured land. In addition to performing at the concert, Sonu will attend a special event, hosted by the Sabha, to launch the building plan for the Shelter.The Sabha has thanked the Government for its support and has also acknowledged its sponsors Digicel, E-Networks, NCN, NTN and Pegasus Hotel Guyana.
