Winnick Wilson, 29, of 101 Hunter Street, La Penitence, who allegedly robbed Francesa Ramsarran of two cell phones, one hand-bag and $4,000 cash, was Thursday faced with the charge of simple larceny.The accused allegedly committed the act on February 23, 2009 in Georgetown and inflicted personal violence on Ramsarran.The defendant, who is currently unemployed but attends the Government Technical Institute in Georgetown studying Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.According to Police Prosecutor Denise Griffith, who asked that bail be refused since the accused has lied to the police about his address when they asked him, said that he was found by the officers in Berbice at an address he didn’t provide before.“Your Worship,Wholesale NFL Jerseys, if you grant the defendant bail, it is likely that he will not attend court when asked.”The accused in his defence said that wasn’t the exact truth. He claimed that the police asked him for his home-town address, and he gave them the address in Berbice, since that was where he was from.The Magistrate placed Wilson on $60,000 bail, and ordered that he return to court on March 17, 2009.
