Yesterday, with a gala ceremony at its Water Street location, the management of Fogarty’s Store presented the prizes to the winners of its Mother’s Day promotion and Essay Competition.The Mother’s Day Promotion, which began on May 2, allowed customers who spent $2000 or more at any Fogarty’s store to become eligible to receive coupons which were to be filled out and dropped into boxes provided.Commenting at the event, Executive Director, Vibert Parvatan, thanked customers for their continuous support.In the Essay Competition, with the topic being, ‘My mother’s Love’ seven-year-old Yutesh Dyal of Corentyne, Berbice, received a $15,000 gift certificate as the first prize, while Althea Elias of Agricola received $10,000 as the second prize. In third place was Jonathan Koo of Alexander Village, Georgetown who won a $5000 gift certificate. Dyal read his winning essay for the audience.In the Mother’s Day Promotion O’Neal Younge of South Ruimveldt Park won a lunch package for four,Cheap Authentic NFL Jerseys, and Agnes Persaud of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, took home splendid ware.Sharmila Durjpaul, of Canal No. One, won for herself a rice cooker while Margaret Trotman of Doch Cab Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara took home a H/Beach Blender. Camilla Panday of Ogle Front was given a crystal set, while Valine Halim of Eccles received a grocery hamper.Mon Repos resident, Asha Ojha, won a white diamond set while Claire Straker of Robb Street, Bourda was the recipient of an Ice Cream Maker.Bedwattie Esserry of Delph Street, Campbellville took home a Food Processor, and Bibi Baldeo of Vryheid’s Lust was ecstatic about her Sankey Toaster Oven. Venetta Persaud of Albouystown seemed pleased with her Magic Chef Microwave. |
