| Attorneys representing the defence and the prosecution are expected to make their closing arguments on Monday in the murder trial of Lloyd Britton. He is represented by Attorney Nigel Hughes.In her opening address, State Attorney Orinthia Schmidt told the jury that it is the job of the prosecution to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt.She said that the State must prove that Fernandes died as a result of injuries he received from the accused and that at the time the accused had formed the intention to kill or to cause serious bodily harm.Schmidt stressed that there is no duty on the State to produce a murder weapon to prove its case.She noted, too, that the Prosecution does not have to prove motive or that the killing was premeditated.Since the opening of the matter, the Court had facilitated a visit to the murder scene.The Prosecution had called a number of witnesses to the stand, some of whom testified to being at the scene at the time of the shooting at Mandela Avenue.Yesterday State Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh testified to examining the injuries and exit wounds on the body of the victim during the autopsy. Dr. Singh is among the final witnesses to be called in the trial after which the attorneys will make their closing addresses and the judge will sum up the evidence and send it to the jury for deliberations on a verdict.Meanwhile, the trial of Jahryl Reid for the murder of Mabura businesssman Colin Mc Lean commenced yesterday at the High Court before Justice Jo Ann Barlow and a 12-member mixed jury.Reid is indicted for the murder of businessman Colin Mc Lean. The killing occurred on April 27, 2014, at Mabura,Wholesale NFL Jerseys Authentic, Upper Demerara River.The case is being presented by State Attorneys, Siand Dhurjon and Shawnette Austin.
